The communiqué which was made available to newsmen at the weekend said reversion to old school uniform and other policies of Governor Oyetola are commendable.

“The assemblage of Obas in Osun central and Osun west support the policies of Alhaji Oyetola led administration as the governor of the state on the reversion of

Schools’ names to their former ones, as well as the reversion to old uniforms. Other policies meant to improve the quality of education at the primary and secondary education levels are equally supported,” the communiqué read.

The monarchs pledged their support to the South west security outfit “Amotekun” and declared support for the suspension of Oluwo of Iwo, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi, by Osun traditional council of Obas under the leadership of Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi.

Speaking at Galaxy Continental Hotel, Osogbo, during the 1st luncheon of Ebekun Old Students Association, the new national president, Dr Adebisi Abimbola, urged the state government to quickly approve the recommendations of the committee on education and reverse the schools to their normal positions.

He said the old students of Ebekun Secondary Commercial Grammar School, Iresi, have expressed their dissatisfaction with the changing of the school’s name to Ebekun Middle/High School.

Also, the immediate past president, Alhaji Ibrahim Moronfolu, said the association cried out when the name of the school was changed to Ebekun Middle School because it was Ebekun Secondary Commercial Grammar School when the former president Goodluck Jonathan did his NYSC scheme there in 1982.
