Association of Retired Police Officers, Kaduna state chapter, Monday called on the Senate President, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, to fulfill his promise by exiting them from the contributory pension scheme immediately.
Chairman of the chapter, CSP Mannir Lawal Zaria (Rtd), made the call in a press statement issued by him and made available to the media in Kaduna after his meeting with his members.
Blueprint recalls that the Association of the Nigeria Police Retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme, Kaduna state branch carried out a peaceful protest last December, to the National Assembly Complex, during which the Senate President, Sen. Akpabio addressed them through the chairman, Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Sen. Ahmed AbdulMumini Malamadori.
The Senate President pledged that once they are through with budget defence, he will invite the Inspector General of Police with a view to removing the Police from the Contributory Pension Scheme.
