Reps group drums support for Gbajabiamila

The coordinator of the newly elected House of Representatives members in the South-west zone, Prince Musiliu Akinremi, has hinted that 191 members of the lower chamber are presently backing Femi  Gbajabiamila for the position of speaker of the 9th house.

Prince Aderemi stated this in Ibadan while receiving some of the newly elected members of the house at his residence. They were in his house in continuation of the nationwide consultations to build support for Gbajabiamila’s ambition

The coordinator, who is to represent Ibadan North federal constituency, said at the parley “we have 191 members as of today backing Gbajabiamila.”

“We will keep talking to our colleagues from across the six geopolitical zones. Write it down, Gbajabiamila may emerge unopposed. We are sure of well over 200 members’ support when the house convenes on June 11”, he said.

Prince Aderemi added, “for us, the ninth National Assembly should go beyond party affiliation but the need to have qualified, experienced and highly cerebral lawmaker in the person of Gbajabiamila in office as speaker to work with the executive and judiciary to effect positive changes in the nation’s body polity.”
