Presidential polls: Kwande, Atiku’s associate applauds INEC chairman

Former Nigeria’s Ambassador to Switzerland Alhaji Yahaya Kwande has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under the leadership of Professor Mahmood Yakabu for the successful conduct of last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly election.

He said the fearless and truthful stance of INEC chairman was good enough and has given Nigerians confidence that their votes counted.

The elder statesman, who is a die-hard supporter and associate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, stated this in an interview with Blueprint at his residence in Jos.

“I have casted my vote at ease; it was simplified, better than before. I voted with full hope and trust that my votes and every other will be counted. Unlike the past elections where I was contemplating whether it will be counted, there was certainty,” he said.
