Presidential campaign: Northern IPAC cautions Dino Melaye, Shetima ‘unguided’ utterances

The Inter-party Advisory Council, IPAC, has cautioned the spokespersons of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Presidential candidate, Senator Dino Melaye, and the vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shitema over what it described as “unguided utterances” in recent times.

This was contained in a statement after the northern chairmen forum of IPAC executive meeting on Friday in Jos, signed by their chairman Hon. Abubakar Dogara.

According to him, the meeting discussed the way forward on the Northern Political permutations.
He said that the Northern political leaders will not accommodate any body no matter how highly positioned to trigger political intolerance amongst youths in the region. 

“These leaders are expected to preach peace, tolerance and accommodative languages to the youths not thuggery, disrespect and violence ” he said.
The Northern IPAC, equally called on religious and community leaders to desist from endorsing presidential candidates in the name of the North. 

He said, “The Forum will soon communicate its recommendations on the preferred candidate for the North to the National headquarters of IPAC Abuja.”

According to the statement, all the executive members as well as IPAC chairmen of the 19 Northern states were in attendance, including the secretary of the Forum Hon Mikailu Abubakar from Kaduna state.
