Plateau: NDE trains youth in skills for self reliance 

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Tuesday in Jos, commenced the training of male and female youth in life impacting skills for self- employment and self-reliance.

Flagging off the training at the Jos NDE office, the Director General, Malam Nuhu Fikpo said the scheme being part of the directorate’s Youth Transformation Training Scheme (YTTS) was a programme that would effect the needed skills for self-employment.

Represented by the Plateau State Coordinator of NDE, Mrs Asabe Ayuba Lassa, Fikpo said the second phase of the scheme would be the training of youth on the basic life skills involving communication, printing, graphics design and others.

“It is for the beneficiaries to acquire life skills training that gives them the ability to adopt to positive behaviours that will help enable them deal effectively with demands and challenges of everyday life,” he said.

He admonished the trainees to be serious, and further urged them not to look down on their trainer as the training progressed.
