Plateau lawmaker demands prosecution of kidney harvester 

The member representing Jos North North constituency, in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Adamu Aliyu, has called on the state government to thoroughly investigate the issues of kidney harvesting by Mr. Noah Kekere, at Murna Clinic and maternity, Jos.

Hon Aliyu made the call while presenting a motion of urgent public importance last weekend on the plenary of the house.

He said: “We are awashed with the story of one Mrs Kehinde Kamal, who sometimes in 2018 consulted a supposedly medical doctor known as Dr Noah Kekere, the proprietor of Murna Clinic and Maternity situated at Nassarawa Gwong Jos, she had abdominal pains, and Dr. Noah Kekere, did informed her that her illness was an appendix which must be removed.

“Mr. Noah Kekere, conducted the surgery as planned in 2018, after several hours, unfortunately and unknowingly her right kidney was illegally removed on the course of the surgery, it was later discovered at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital, that her was removed, the discovery led to the arrest of Mr..Noah Kekere,” Hon Aliyu said.

“In another twist the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), confirmed that Mr. Noah Kekere is a quack, I now, therefore, call on this house to call on the state government agency to investigate quacks and unregistered hospitals,” he urged.

He stressed that worthy of commendation was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), SP Timothy Bebissa, that had rejected the offer of bribe by Mr. Noah Kekere.

Hon. Aliyu in a separate interview with newsmen, said the number victims are increasing as many others are been discovered.

He said there was no how he would let the culprit just go unprosecuted.
