The Ministry of Petroleum Resources has distanced itself from a fake letter of appointment purportedly signed by the Permanent Secretary and issued to one Hon. Collins Nwankwol to Chair a special task force on illegal bunkering.
According to the Director (Information) in the ministry, Enefaa Bob-Manuel (Mrs), in a statement to journalists, stated that “it had neither set up any committee nor appointed any individual or group of individuals into the said committee.”
The Ministry further warned members of the public to disregard that letter and any individual parading himself as the Chairman of the committee.
The statement also urged anybody in custody of such letters or letters to report to the police for investigation.
