PDP to APC defections are mere political gimmicks

One will find it difficult to identify the clear differences that characterise the two major political parties ranging from their policies, strategies and system of administration.

When looked at closely, one is bound to realise that it’s a group of the same people for over a decade running from one political party to another.

Both PDP and APC have no respect for laid down rules and the constituitional provisions that guide and regulate the affairs of the polical parties. None of them has ever conducted a free and fair party congress which they claim to be doing.

Party executives are usually selected rather than elected by some few stakeholders with the aim to get their preferred candidate elected.

The so-called political bigwigs keep controlling the affairs of the two major parties for decades. They making sure that their candidates clinch victory for whatever political position they are contesting, and are given returns after elections.

Many people trooped into APC to contest for certain political positions but left for PDP immediately after losing the primary elections claiming injustice. Others simultaneously left the PDP for APC and that’s how the shifting blame game continues.

Shamelessly, some of them started criticising the former for injustice and maladministration sidelining themselves on the role played in running the affairs of the claimed poor administration.

Consequently, politicians took the advantage and maneuver through the two major political parties in search of cheap political offices and appointment not with sole aim if creating welfare and job opportunities for the masses.

It is high time we learnt to elect people based on their capacity to deliver not because of their political inclination.
The kind of people that would deliver on their campaign promises and lead with utmost patience and high sense of responsibility.
