Osun APC caretaker blames insurgency, banditry on PDP govt

The Osun State Caretaker Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Prince Gboyega Famodun, has blamed past administration for the banditry and insurgency all over the country.

He said the insurgency was inherited by the present administration from former administration.

Speaking with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, in Osogbo, the state capital, Famodun stated that unemployment has only contributed to the high rate of kidnapping in the country.

Famodun who stated that banditry has been commercialised in Nigeria, assured that it will be conquered with the relentless efforts of securities.

He said, “Boko Haram insurgent was inherited by the present administration. We tried to tackle it in the first term, but unfortunately, it was increasing. All the banditry and insurgency have been highly commercialised.

Speaking on the crack within the ruling APC, he described it as “African”, alleging that the crisis was caused by those that have benefited from the party.

He said the crisis within the APC, though peculiar to African politics, is still manageable compared to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“You can see that PDP has gone since the last election in the state, when it is six months to another election, you will see them spending money for the people.

“Our party remains the answer to the yearnings of people. That is why we are sure that APC will win 2022 governorship election in Osun.

Reacting to a question on whether he would contest the royal tussle of Owa of Igbajo, Famodun said “I leave it to God.

“I was born in the palace and I know a lot about palace. I was in the palace for about 30years. I am a Prince that understand the rudiment. But, I believe it is God that calls.”
