Leaders of Oil Suppliers’ and Marketers Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Ltd, OSMMCS, Enugu State chapter has called on the Federal Government and the authorities of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation of Nigeria, NNPC, to without delay re-open the Enugu NNPC Depot to save the people of the South East  untold hardship  in the procurement of petroleum products.
The President of OSMMCS, Oliver Ngwoke who made the call in media chart with journalists in Enugu regretted that while most depots in the country have been revamped and working Enugu depot had remained closed.

Ngwoke further pointed out that the re-opening of the depot which had been closed down for quite some time now will convince the people of Enugu State that President Jonathan is actually touching the people’s lives in their enclave. He wondered what the Petroleum Minister, DiezaniMadueke would tell the people of Enugu State when she finishes her tenure as the petroleum minister without Enugu depot dispensing petrol while others across the country are working.
According to him, “I don’t know what the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison Madueke will tell the people of Enugu State if by the end of 2015, she comes back as the Minister of Petroleum Resources and Enugu depot is not working.
“So, I want to plead with her to think home and know what she will do to support us re-open that depot as soon as possible,” he exhorts and at the same time pleaded with the President Jonathan to help ensure that the depot becomes operational again.
