Ogun: NDE empowers 40 graduate trainees with start- up equipments 

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has organised a resettlement program for 40 graduated trainees of Vocational Skills development under its Community Based Training Scheme (CBTS) in Ogun state.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, stated that youth empowerment training and capacity- building is one of the many ways to end unemployment, youth restiveness and reduction of crime in society. 

He added that an “idle mind is the devils workshop,” hence the need to positively engage the mind of the youth in income generating activities. 

Represented by the state coordinator, Oshinowo K. A, the DG further stated  that “the growth and development of every economy is dependent on the quality of its manpower and their ability to utilise skills and knowledge acquired to generate income and boost commercial activities.”

The state coordinator  added that beneficiaries of the resettlement items were drawn from the 20 local government area across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

Meanwhile, the Acting Director, VSD headquarters, Hajiya Amina Lewa, also stated that tools and equipment disbursed totaled N2.4 million naira only. 

The director, represented by Jimada Biliqisu, encouraged all beneficiaries to be diligent and hardworking, while making judicious use of the laudable opportunity accorded them by the federal government.
