NYSC lists success of SAED as 2,350 corps members begin orientation in Osun

The NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Adegoke Ayodele Adewale, has disclosed that corps members who have succeeded in Skill Acquisition and Entreprenurship Development Programme (SAED) have been making money from cucumber and other farm produce. 


Addressing the corps members during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 at the permanent orientation camp, Ede, Adewale urged the new corps members to take the skill Acquisition Programme seriously. 


He disclosed that 2,350 corps members were posted to the state comprising of 1,100 male and 1,250 female. 


He said, “We have corps members who cultivated cucumber farms in different parts of the state and today have starting making money from their yields. 


“We equally have corps members who have set up their paint production, tailoring outfit, amongst others. 

In his address, Governor Gboyega Oyetola,  who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Mr Lawal Azeez Olayemi, advised the corps members to see their call as a service to the nation.  


He urged them to utilize the opportunity to develop themselves, make friends and think of what they can produce or offer as a solution to human needs and problems. 


“Do not see your call as a sheer waste of tune or as a time to partake of the national cake as some call it,  but rather know that the state and the nation need your input and fresh ideas to forge ahead in every area and sector. 


“Devote yourself to discovering ways in which you can improve and impact health sector, education, rural infrastructure and agricultural sector to improve the standard of living of the people. 


“My government will continue to work towards providing adequate security and a conducive environment for you to serve your fatherland successfully. 


“Join us to make our economy bigger and stronger by embracing skills acquisition and entrepreneurship. Be creative and innovative as graduates and elites of our nation.
