The Management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called attention to the mix-up in the reporting dates for the 2015 Batch ‘A’ Orientation Course in respect of Corps members deployed to Benue state.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja, the Scheme said the orientation course in Benue camp, like in some other states, had been planned to take place in two Streams; with the Stream I scheduled to take place from May 5 to 25, 2015 and Stream II to hold from June 2 to 22, 2015.

It, however, said it had been discovered that the corps members assigned for the Stream II exercise in Benue reported at the Camp between May 5 and 6, 2015, as against their scheduled date of June 2, due to error on their call-up letters.

The statement said: “Consequently, all the affected prospective Corps members originally scheduled to participate in the Stream II of the on-going Orientation course in Benue state has been paid their transport fare to and fro the orientation camp in line with their entitlements in the present circumstance. This is to enable them travel back home and return to camp on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

“Management took this decision so as to ensure that our Corps members enjoy basic comfort in the Orientation camp and to avoid overstretching camp facilities.”

It, therefore, assured all affected corps members deployed to Benue state that the above arrangement would not alter their passing-out date as they would, as usual, pass out with their counterparts of Stream I at the end of their service year.
