NPFL: Iorfa attributes  smooth take off to Alia, deputy governor 





The Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lobi Stars, Dominic Iorfa, has commended the executive governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia and his deputy who is the chairman of the club Barr. Sam Ode for the massive support they  given the team for a smooth start in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL new season.

Iorfa also unveiled a new head coach, Eugene Agagbe, who he said he has confidence following the results he has achieved so far since the beginning of the new NPFL season.

Speaking in an interaction with journalists in Makurdi, he said he has decided to bring on board an indigenous coach, to develop talents in the state noting that since after Coach Godwin Uwua left, no indigene have been employ to man Lobi Stars  again as head of the technical crew.

Iorfa said he remained committed to repositioning the club with innovative policies and programes that would help the club remain viable to compete at the highest level at the continentals.

Earlier, Coach Agagbe who holds a CAF B license while speaking thanked the VC/CEO for the opportunity, assuring him that with God’s favours, he shall succeed.

He assured that he will bring his expertise to bear on his assignment towards uplifting the team to an enviable heights.

“A task has been given to me to work hard and showcase myself so that when Iam not here, other coaches from the state will take over from me. So far so good, we have played 2-2 in Oweri, yesterday by the special grace of God, we came victorious, 3 goals to 2 against Sunshine of Akure. On the table so far, we are second.”

Agagbe was the interim coach of Lobi Stars between 2022 and 2023.
