A member of the House of Representatives representing Ikeja Federal Consitutency, Hon. James Faleke, has appealed to members of the Tinubu-Shettima Team Abuja for peace and unity among Nigerians after the elections.
Faleke, who is the secretary of the defunct All Progressives Congress (APC’s) Presidential Campaign Council, spoke in Abuja over the weekend at a reception organized by the Tinubu-Shettima Team ahead of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s inauguration.
The lawmaker, who eulogized members of the group for their commitment during and after the election, assured them of his unalloyed support.
He said: “Your contribution to the campaigns and eventual elections in the states are well noted and appreciated. Therefore, in reciprocal, there can be no better support to give to your Group than to have accepted to honour this gathering with my physical presence following the desire and wishes of the organizers of this great occasion.
“Now that the election is over and the new government is being put in place, I wish to reiterate our earliest commitment to this laudable group that it will continue to have my unalloyed support as long as we all continue to do the noble job of creating awareness and encouraging responsible responses and good behaviorof all our women and youths.
“I beckon on your viable Group to still work so hard with your patriotic members to awaken in Nigerians the need for them to be at the forefront of making concerted efforts to see that our country remains stable, peaceful, and economically viable. We must come together to harness the surplus energy in us to ensure the upliftment of our country.
“I appeal to you to further preach the message of peace and unity and always dissuade our youths and your counterparts across the country not to allow themselves to be used to foment
any form of crisis whose consequences can be devastating to the corporate
existence and good image of the country”.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Otunba Nathaniel T. Dosumu, had expressed appreciation to the members of the group for their contribution and selflessness during the election and called on all Nigerians to support Tinubu’s government.
