Nothing wrong in delegates loyal to Jonathan – Delegate

A delegate, Senator Seidu Mohammed, representing the North west, has said that there was nothing wrong for delegates to be loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan, as insinuated by a delegate.

Sen. Mohammed told Blueprint in an interview yesterday shortly after the conference adjourn its sitting that as far as such loyalty will assist the President in taking Nigeria out of the complex situation that has bedeviled the country.

“As far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong in being a loyalist of the President, as long as it will assist the President in taking Nigeria out of the complex situation that has bedeviled this country for so long.

“It is normal to be with the President, you cannot have a president without loyalists but the fundamental issue of loyalty to the country remains uppermost.  Mr. president is trying to do the best he can to make history because Nigeria has never be at a cross road like it is today; we are living in an abnormal situation, an abnormal situation like this requires extra ordinary decisions, it requires courage in order to take Nigeria out of where it is today.”

Commenting on some of the disagreements the conference had witnessed, the former senator said such was normal in such a conference.
“The misunderstanding that has happened in the course of deliberation in the last two days is normal. You can’t bring people numbering about five hundred in one place to discuss issues and they won’t have disagreements; there is what we call individual differences, some people know how to put across their views and opinions in a humanly manner, while some people cannot.” he said

The delegate advised the conference secretariat to solicit for some support or some staff of the National Assembly in carrying out its duties.
