Nestlé unveils health initiative for 30 schools in FCT, Ogun

 

The Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Manager, Nestlé Nigeria plc, Mrs. Victoria Uwadoka, has revealed that the Nestlé for Healthier Kids initiative (NHK) “will be implemented to 30 schools in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Ogun state.”
The manager, who noted this yesterday in Abuja at the launch of Nestlé for Health kids initiative, said they are reaching out to 17,000 students in 30 schools in Abuja and Ogun state, respectively.
According to her, Nestlé’s driven vision is to enhance quality life as the company is part of supporting children live a healthier life for a better generation.
She said their products were of high quality that “help the children grow and their mission is to reach out to 17,000 children in 2018.”
Victoria further explained that the initiative “will include training of teachers to their students in schools to always take Nestle products to stay healthy at all time.”
Also, in an overview of Nestlé Healthier Kids Initiative, the Marketing and Public Affairs Project Manager for Nestlé, Mrs. Gloria Uwabuike, explained that the initiative was launched in May 15, 2018, adding that “their pillars of action are to build, share and apply nutrition knowledge.”
“To offer tastier and healthier choices and to inspire families to raise healthier kids; the five objectives of NHS is to help our children to eat nutritious and diverse meals. To manage portions of what they eat at any point given time, choose water, play and be active, maintain good hygiene habits,” she said.
She explained that 350 teachers “will be trained in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB),” adding that manuals will be available, practical sections will also be available.”
