NDLEA intercepts 1,503.044kg drugs in Zamfara

The National Law Drugs Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Zamfara state command has intercepted a Mercedes Benz truck with registration number Anambra XY 200 FGG on the Gusau-Sokoto road, conveying some assorted drugs worth 1,503.044 kilogrammes.

This was disclosed by Zamfara state commander of the agency, Gabriel Adamu Eigege, at a press conference Wednesday in Tsafe town, headquarters of Tsafe local government council.

He said the drugs intercepted consist, 185kgs of Cannabis Sativa, 11.5kgs of Hypnox, 14kgs of Diazepam, 22.7kgd of Valinex-5, 310kgd of Exol-5 and 59.844kgs of Codeine Syrup respectively.

He said, during the interception operation by the command, two persons were arrested in connection with the seizure and detained pending the outcome of investigation.

Mr. Gabriel  cautioned merchants of death who are bent on destroying youth to keep their distance from Zamfara state or face justice in its full wrath, regardless of their position in the country.

He also commended Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle and the good people of Zamfara state for the moral support to the command to carry out their statutory activities unfettered. He solicited synergy with journalists to rid Zamfara state of substance abuse.
