NDE trains 220 on life skills acquisition in Kano 

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Kano state office has commenced the training of 220 life skills acquisition beneficiaries cutting across all the 44 local government areas in the state with a call on  them to utilise the opportunity given to them to be self-employed.

Speaking at the flag-off of the training held at the NDE state office in Kano, Tuesday, the Director-General of the NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said the programme had been conceived to  inject succour into the beneficiaries drawn from all the 44 local government areas of Kano.

According to him, the life skills acquisition programme was a community based scheme designed and restricted within the scope and jurisdiction of the local communities, adding that the Directorate’s main concern was to complement the effort of the federal government on the disturbing mass unemployment.

The Director-General, who was represented by the NDE coordinator Kano office, Malam Inusa Abdullahi Adamu, however, stated that it was the mandate of the Directorate to support government’s  drive towards  providing job opportunities to the unemployed youth in the country in the absence of the much pronounced white collar jobs which cannot be found.

Speaking in the same vein, NDE  Director Vocational Skills Development,  Malam Isa Abdu, harped on the need for the beneficiaries to rise to the task of embracing the community based training with  utmost sincerity, commitment and vigour adding that ,  the beneficiaries were specifically chosen to prove their industriousness and efficacy.
