Naija Super 8: Katsina hold Remo Stars as Enyimba walk tight rope

In the on-going Naija Super 8 newly promoted Katsina United held Remo Stars  to a 1-1 draw by Katsina United in their encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Sunday while the encounter between Sporting Lagos and Enyimba International of Aba ended goalless.

Enyimba’s gaolier, John Noble was the hero of the match when it saved a penalty towards the tail end of the match. Enyimba has managed to garner one point from two matches while Sporting Lagos is on four points.

The match between Katsina United and Remo Stars  started at 2pm with high riding Remo Stars on the ascendancy with Remo’s Fabian Nworie guiding  home the ball from close range off a corner kick on 20 minutes.

Katsina United equalised four minutes later through Samson Olasupo.

Both teams failed to find the winning goal despite creating a number of chances.

Remo Stars remain top of Group A with four points from two games.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side defeated Enyimba 2-1 in their opening game of the competition.

Katsina United sit in second position with one point from one game after coming from the NNL Super 8 playoffs where they secured a ticket to the elite league alongside others team.

Enyimba will take on Sporting Lagos in the group’s other game later on Sunday evening.

In the match decided on Saturday, Akwa United defeated Yobe Desert Stars by 2-1 while Lobi Stars came from behind to beat Rivers United by 2-1.
