NAHCON concludes oversights visits, airlifts 56,446 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Makkah office has completed visit to 18 field offices that will serve Nigerian pilgrims ahead of the commencement of the rituals at the Holy Sites next week.

NAHCON says it has also airlifted 56,446 out of the 75,000 Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

The deputy coordinator, NAHCON Makkah Office Operations Alidu Shutti accompanied by the Company of Mutawwif Liason Officer Dr. Aliyu Tanko, Saudi Liason Officer Ustaz Lamin Abubakar and media team concluded the visitations Saturday morning.

According to the deputy coordinator, the visit is to familiarize and get all necessary updates on the state of preparedness of the 18 Field Offices.

Issues raised include tent facilities, cooling systems, bedding, toiletries, cleanliness/sanitation, and feeding are generally discussed mutually with a focus on improving the delivery of these services to the Pilgrims to let them enjoy a serene environment to perform their rituals.

The deputy coordinator expressed satisfaction with the level of preparation and provisions made by the Company of Mutawwif to adequately take care of the entire Nigerian pilgrims to this year’s Hajj.

He assured that all issues raised will be addressed before the commencement of the ritual rights.

Meanwhile, 22 days after the inaugural flight departed Abuja for Saudi Arabia with Nasarawa state pilgrims, the Commission has airlifted 56,446 to the only land.

Data published by NAHCOM Command and Control unit disclosed that the MaxAir flight with registration number NGL3035 that departed Katsina to Madinah on Saturday by 11:03 am with 539 Katsina Pilgrims and 13 Officials, males 281 and 258 made it 134 flights.

So as of press time, with 134 flights, NAHCON has airlifted 56,446 to Saudi Arabia.
