My 6-points agenda ‘ll rescue Kebbi – LP candidate

The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Kebbi state, Mr Gambo Paul Tase, has said his six point agenda would rescue the state.

Tase’s agenda centres on security, health, infrastructure, land resources/agricultural transformation and digital economy and wealth creation.

According to Tase, Kebbi state is failing but added that he has offered himself to change the narrative.

Speaking while interacting with journalists in Abuja, Tase said the administration of labour party under him will provide welfare and security to the people

According to Tase, he is out for a political emergency where their children, grandchildren and generations to come will be happy with them.

“We are out for a political emergency; if not, our children, grandchildren and generations to come will never forgive us if we fail to rise to this urgent challenge,” Tase said.

On security, Tase said: “The programmes outlined above will enable the government to curb the menace of general insecurity. However, specific measures are to be taken to rid the state of incidents of violent crimes and insecurity such as banditry, kidnapping, cattle-rustling, herdsmen farmers clashes. Let me repeat that the most effective way to combat insecurity is to run a responsible and credible government.

“When the people have confidence in the government as the guarantor of their welfare and security, the challenges of insecurity become the business of all. The administration of the Labour Party shall dutifully discharge its constitutional responsibility of adequately providing for the welfare and security of the people.

“In this respect, my government will work with the Federal agencies to deal effectively with insecurity threats. Traditional Rulers and institutions will be integrated into the scheme. Local vigilante groups and professionals will be partners in the war against crime and insecurity. Private companies, investors, and nongovernmental bodies will all be involved in planning, execution, and funding of programs,” Tase said.

On health, Tase disclosed that Emphasis shall be on the delivery of primary Health care facilities adding that the existing ones shall be adequately staffed with facilities provided including drugs and other consumables at this level.

“Transport systems, communication networks, sewage, water supply, waste management, power and energy systems, schools and hospitals will be rehabilitated and upgraded. We shall make land acquisition easier for commercial agriculture, industrialization and other forms of developments including occupancy rights for housing estates and other commercial land development investments. We shall invest in agro-based small and medium-scale industries and encourage private individual ventures based on resource endowment and comparative advantage of each LGA.

“We will ensure that a large percentage of individuals, businesses, and government agencies in the state are digitally enabled to use information technology to create or adapt, market or consume goods and services such as in digital banking,e-commerce, virtual education, smartphone apps and collaboration platforms.

“Foster partnership with relevant industries and manufacturing companies to industrialise the state and provide employment opportunities outside the government, facilitate women capacity building and skills acquisition.

“In addition to skills acquisition, youths shall be empowered to be self-reliant and subsequently become employers of labour,” Tase said.
