Our leaders have failed – Mantu

A former Deputy President of the Senate, Ibrahim Mantu, has said that the leaders of the Nigerian leaders have failed to meet the expectation of Nigerians, having in mind that the responsibilities of this leaders is to ensure the wellbeing of the Nigerian people. He made this statement during a two-day Summit organised by the Global Initiative for Harmony in Nigeria (GIHN) with the theme “Building Leaders For Today’s Challenges” which began yesterday in Abuja.
“As leaders, we should manage the resources judiciously and ensure for the interest of the people through prudent management of the resources. We must change our way of doing things and not remain stagnant,” he stated. “Our primary concern should be the happiness of our people. The Executive and the Legislature should put the interest of Nigerians above theirs. We cannot continue to do war-war but rather embrace peace and endure, tolerate and understand each other better.”

The Commander-in-Chief and the founder of GIHN, Mrs. Eizabeth Omini, said the aim for the Summit is to make her Staff are united and reaching out to all Nigerians to live in peace and harmony especially in this time of consisted crisis. “Since inception, we have been working in synergy with the grassroots and with security Agencies especially now that insecurity is rampant, with the knowledge that this youths or persons causing this menace belong to one family or the other. This Summit is to extend this gesture to them via their Community Heads or Leaders to desist from such for we know that children listen to their immediate elders”. “By the time we achieve our aim, I believe we will reduce unemployment in the country,” she added.
