The lawmaker representing Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon Chike Okafor, a commissioner, Simeon Ebegbulem and the Director General, Imo State Waste Management Agency (ISWAMA), Chike Emeakaraoha, Friday, escaped death by the whiskers, when gunmen who laid ambush for them attacked and riddled their vehicles with bullets.
Blueprint correspondent gathered that the trio were returning to Owerri, the state capital from an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally in Ihitte Uboma local government area when the attack was carried out.
On sighting their vehicles from where they reportedly laid ambush, at Alike, they shot at them sporadically but the vehicles in which they were traveling managed to manouvre and sped for safety.
However, as at the time of filing this report, Imo state Police Command was yet to confirm the development.
