Late Olubadan embodiment of Yoruba Omoluabi concept – NOA DG

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has described the late Olubadan of Ibadanland’ Oba Lekan Balogun as an embodiment of the Yoruba Omoluabi concept

NOA stated this in a message at the weekend to commiserate with Gov Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in Council, the Lekan Balogun family and the indigenes of Ibadanland on the demise of Oba Mahood Olalekan Balogun

In the statement on behalf of NOA Director General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, stressed that the late Olubadan demonstrated his embodiment of the Yoruba Omoluabi concept during his reign as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The agency stressed, ” More importantly, Kabiyesi was accessible to all his subjects and encouraged peaceful co-existence among all the residents of Ibadan”.

NOA stressed with nostalgia Oba Balogun’s warm disposition, when he received the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu in February, 2024 during which many issues of national interest were discussed during the visit.

The agency maintained that the agency would make use of the late Kabiyesi’s suggestions and advice in the onerous task of moving Nigeria to greatness.

” The late Kabiyesi will be remembered as a patriot who was passionate about the peace and progress of Ibadanland in particular and that of Nigeria in general. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat Firdaus’.
