Late Alkali an embodiment of selflessness – Modibbo

Comrade Adamu Modibbo, All Progressives Congress stalwart in Gombe and political associate of Kaduna state governor, Mallam Nasiru el-Rufa’i, has described the late Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe, Dr. Yahaya Saidu Alkali as an embodiment of selflessness and generosity.

Speaking with newsmen in Gombe, Wednesday, Modibbo said “Dr Alkali’s death has created a vacuum that’s hard to fill in the near future. Indeed a vacuum hard to fill has been created.”

“It’s a sad moment for us as a state, his families, friends and associates. We’re all grieved by his sudden death but all we can do is to pray for Allah to forgive him and grant him Aljannatul Firdausi,’’ he said.

Continuing, he said, “Dr. Yahaya is an embodiment of selflessness and generosity and throughout the good life he lived, he touched the lives of everyone he came across and he will be remembered for his kindness and uprightness.’’

Dr. Yahaya Saidu Alkali, who was the fourth Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe and also a lecturer at the Department of Medical Sciences of the Gombe State University, died on the 5th of November, 2019 at the Nizamiye Hospital in Abuja and has since been buried in Gombe in accordance with Islamic rites; leaving behind his wife and children.
