Kuje chair calls for enrollment in health insurance scheme

The chairman, Kuje area council, Alhaji Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo, has called on staff to enrol for the health insurance scheme.

He made this call in Kuje Monday when the FCT minister of state, Dr RamatuTijani Aliyu flagged- off ceremony of maternal newborn and child health week/enrolment of staff for health insurance scheme in Kuje. 

The chairman said the choice of Kuje for the flagged- off of these two important events is not out of place.

 “We want to believe it is in recognition of out of laudable effort towards healthy living of our people,” he said. 

He noted that, maternal new born and health care, as we know it is a biannual event that is aimed at reducing maternal death, child mortality and morbidity. 

He said the intervention is to provide maternal health care and nutrition key to child survival and maternal well-being. 

In view of the foregoing, the chairman stated that, we are calling on direct beneficiaries who are children from age 0-59 months and women of child bearing age to avail themselves of the opportunity by coming out en-mass to be part of the programme so that at the end, it shall be better for all of us in Kuje and FCT. 

On health insurance scheme for personnel, the chairman said it is a good development for the staff and their families pointing out that Kuje area council provided the necessary things needed for the take- off of the scheme.
