Kogi NUJ elects new exco at triennial delegates confab

The newly re-elected chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kogi state Council, Comrade Ali Atabor, has vowed to make discipline, accountability and professionalism as his watchwords during the three-year mandate given to him by the members.
Atabo disclosed this yesterday in Lokoja while delivering his acceptance speech at 5th triennial delegates’ conference of the union.

The chairman, who was returned unopposed following the refusal of his co-contestant, Mr Kola Toluhi, to appear before the screening committee, said the issues of discipline, accountability and professionalism in the union will not be handling with levity.
Atabor, who said his re-election, was borne out the performance of his exco in the last three years   assured members of their resolve to do more for the council.

He said: “My re-election is an indication that the exco have performed very well. This has never happen in this council. I appreciated the overwhelming mandate given to us and we will strive hard to justify the trust reposed on us.”
