Kebbi North senator denies withdrawing from contest

Senator representing Kebbi North, Dr Yahaya Abdullahi Argungu, has over the weekend debunked insinuation making the rounds that he has withdrawn his second term ambition and therefore has declined to purchase the All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form.
Speaking to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi the state capital at the weekend, the media aid to the senator, Muhammad Jamil Gulma said the rumours were baseless and unfounded, adding that it was just an attempt to distance the senator away from the electorate who were yearning for his second term bid.
He further said that it was the hand work of those blindly wanting to uproot the senator whom they believed has delivered much expected of him across the senatorial district in terms of infrastructure with direct bearings on the lives of the people.
“So the only thing the detractors felt they can do is to concoct lies against the senator’s second term bid as their campaign strategy.
Let me make it clear that Dr Yahaya Abdullahi Argungu is in the race and no going back.” According to him, the senator has since purchased APC nomination form filled and submitted for the 2019 general elections and by the grace of God he would be returned.
Jamilu, however, enjoined the people of Kebbi North to disregard such rumours and rally behind the senator to elect him for the second term so as to continue the good work he has started for the betterment of the entire distric
