Kano state task Force on fake, counterfeit and adulterated drugs and unwholesome foods processing of the state ministry of health, has shut down a processing company for alleged adulteration.
Speaking shortly after the closure of the company, the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, said government was committed to sanitising and riding the state of fake and substandard drugs to safe guard the wellbeing of the teeming populace.
Earlier, in his address the acting chairman of the committee, Mr. Ghali Sule, said they raided the company at Kunture in Ungogo local government area after receiving a reports of illicit activities in the company.
He said the company was alleged to had mixed original agro chemical products known as atrazine with fake material and call it Herbicides, which was causing poor yielding and causing a lot of damages to farm products.
Getso, said the owner of the company, Alh Jamilu Abdullahi, was already being prosecuted before a magistrate court.
