‘Jigawa APC LG congress peaceful’

The All Progressives Congress (APC) local government congress conducted in Jigawa state at the weekend was free, fair and credible, Blueprint has gathered. Our correspondent, who went round some local government areas of the state learnt that the elections were conducted in a hitch-free atmosphere with no contest as most of the chairmanship candidates were returned un opposed. It was reliably learnt that the consensus options were adopted where most of the local government chairmen, secretaries and vice chairmen retained their positions without casting a single vote as the committee setup by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar to ensure a hitch-free congresses, performed their assignment creditably.
Our correspondent reports that the only problem identified was the late arrival of election officials to the election venues due consensus options reached in spite of the fact that in some local governments, there were minor replacements due to death, defection, and disloyalty to party or leadership of the local governments, according to impeccable sources. In Yankwashi local government area, the APC leader, who also represents the area at the State Assembly, Hon A bdurahaman Alkassim, said some opposition within the party had threatened his seat and tried to hijack the leadership of the party in the area but he thwarted their efforts.
The law maker, who disclosed that he drilled 22 solar boreholes in the area, built five mosques, and constructed Juma’at Mosque in Karkarna town , the headquarters of the local government within the last three years. Our correspondent also reports that in Gwiwa local government, allthe 27 executive committees of APC in the area retuned u n o p p o s e d a c c o r d i n g to the chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdullahi IdrisDaurawa, while briefing newsmen on the conduct of the election,saying
