ITF trains 195 women, youth on 8 skills

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) has graduated 195 women and youth trained on eight different skills in collaboration with Nigerian Brewery Plc, and presented them with starter-packs to enable them start their new business.

Speaking at the graduation of the ITF/NB Plc 2023 Skills Intervention Programmes, the director-general/chief executive, Industrial Training Fund, Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, represented by the area manager ITF, Kaduna, Mr. Garba Hassan, said the 195 youth and women were trained in skills such as electrical installation, hair dressing, leatherwork, phone repair, solar power installation, and wig and cap making.

“Some of the programmes implemented by the Fund include, Women Skill Empowerment Programme (WOSEP), Construction Skills Empowerment Programme (CONSEP), Agri-preneurship Skills Empowerment Programme (AgSEP), Skills Training and Empowerment Programme for the Physically- Challenged (STEPP-C) among several others,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Ibrahim Lurwanu, who learnt skills in leatherwork, expressed appreciation to the organisers and sponsors of the training.

“I thank Allah that gave NB Plc the thought to support this skills acquisition. We thank ITF, NB Plc and N-Power and Hajiya who has been coordinating the training. We pray that Allah would guide us and enable us make a success out of this our new work,” he said.
