Internet : Presidency thumbs up NCC for connecting 140 million Nigerians

The Presidency on Wednesday in Abuja, commended the Nigerian Communications Communication (NCC), for facilitating connection of about 140 million Nigerians to the Internet.

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Senate Matters, Senator Basheer Lado, made the commendation when he received in audience, the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC, Dr Aminu Maida, in his office at the National Assembly.

Senator Lado particularly applauded the EVC for its ICT hubs, targeting over 140 million Nigerians for internet accessibility and penetration which according to him, has achieved 70% success.

“NCC is no doubt, facilitating and fast tracking accessibility of Nigerians to internet connection which based on latest information, is about 70% attainment now.

“Access to Internet is a boost for economic growth and invariably , catalyst for the actualization of President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda,” he said.

Senator Lado further sought for new collaboration between NCC and the office of the Special Adviser to make operations easier and enhance NCC engagement and communication with the various committees that oversight its office.

Earlier in his remarks during the courtesy visit, the NCC boss lauded Senator Lado for his exemplary style of administration.

According to him, Senator Lado’s gesture of limiting the discharge of his duties to screening government appointees, is commendable.

He appreciated the Special Adviser for the opportunity he has given stakeholders to help the president understand the challenges and progresses that have been made.
