In its unwavering efforts to restore peace and security in Zamfara state the Police Command has rescued six kidnapped victims following a swift search-and-rescue operation.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, stated this in a statement issued to newsmen in Gusau Friday.
According to him, the breakthrough occurred 16th April, 2025, when a joint police and Community Protection Guard (CPG) team on highway patrol along the Anka-Gummi Road noticed an abandoned ash-colored Peugeot 206 by the roadside.
“Suspecting a kidnapping incident, security operatives immediately launched a search operation, leading to the safe recovery of the six victims, namely, Hon. Bakiru Muhammad Masama, Alh Dan Tani Masama, Aminu Aliyu Bukkuyum, Ahmad Muhammad Masama Umar Sa’ idu Ruwan Jema and Shehu Mulluwa.
He said the victims have since been reunited with their families.
The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara state Command, CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba, commended the operatives for their prompt response and reassured the public of the command’s relentless efforts in collaboration with sister security agencies to rescue all kidnapped victims and ensure the safety of lives and property across the state.
CP Maikaba, while reassuring the people of the state of public safety and security, further urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency for immediate action.
