Oyo state Commissioner of Police, CP Johnson Oluwole Adenola, on Friday, said the state Police Command is determined to ensure safety and security of residents during the Easter public holiday.
CP Adenola stated this in a statement made available to journalists by the Oyo state Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Adewale Osifeso.
In the statement, CP Adenola noted that Oyo state Command has put in place comprehensive security protocols to foster a secure environment, guaranteeing the safety and security of residents during the Easter celebration.
He stressed that the measures aimed to safeguard places of worship, recreational facilities, public spaces, critical national assets, correctional institutions, media organisations, and major highways, as well as entry and exit points across Oyo state.
“As part of preparations for a smooth celebration, during the celebration from Friday, April 18, to Monday, April 21, 2025, the Oyo Command has emplaced comprehensive security protocols to foster a secure environment, guaranteeing the safety and security of residents during the Easter the weekend and public holiday”, he said.
CP Adenola added that “These measures aim to safeguard places of worship, recreational facilities, public spaces, critical national assets, correctional institutions, media organisations, and major highways, as well as entry and exit points across Oyo state”.
