Insecurity: IGP, South-west govs, others set to meet in Ibadan

The Inspector General of Police and governors of the South-west states are to meet in Ibadan later on Monday over security challenges facing the zone.

According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Print Media, Mr Moses Alao, late Sunday, the meeting is scheduled for the  International Conference hall, University of Ibadan.

The meeting to be hosted by Gov Makinde tagged South-west Geopolitical Zone Security Summit, was convened by the Inspector-General of Police to unveil his security agenda for the South-west states and to discuss issues and strategies to be adopted in addressing the security challenges in the geopolitical zone.


Foremost traditional rulers, elder statesmen, leaders of socio-cultural groups and other key stakeholders across the region are expected to be at the meeting.
