Injustice to Fulani cause of banditry in Nigeria – Gov Badaru

Jigawa state Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has said injustice meted to Fulani herdsmen in the past led to the incessant banditry problem across Nigeria.

Governor Badaru stated this Wednesday in Dutse local government secretariat while flagging off of the distribution of grains to vulnerable groups across the 27 LGAs of the state.

According to the governor, “in the past Fulani herdsmen were molested in connivance with the security operatives and the court judges in different areas across the country.”

According to the governor, any minor misunderstanding between a herdsman and a member of any community regarding cattle encroachment into farm land or any other issue, the Fulani have always been at the receiving end.

The governor explained that the grains distributed among the vulnerable people in the society were made available by President Muhammadu Buhari with a view to cushioning the effect of the present condition.

About 6,750 bags of grains were distributed to beneficiaries across the 27 local government areas in the state.
