In Nasarawa, Al-Makura calls for continued support for Gov. Sule


The Senator representing Nasarawa south senatorial district, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, Monday, appealed on the people of the state to continue to support the administration of governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state for development to thrive.


He made the appeal during the meet-the-people tour across the 13 local government areas of the state to mark the two years of governor Sule in office in Keana Local Government Area (LGA).


Al-Makura assured that before the end of the remaining two years of governor Abdullahi Sule in office, Nasarawa state would witness tremendous transformation, urging the citizens to support the present administration in delivery dividends of democracy.


He commended the governor for embarking on the meet-the-people tour, stressing that it will avail him the opportunity to hear from the people and to get their advice on the way forward.
Al-Makura who is the immediate past governor of Nasarawa state also used the opportunity to appreciate his successor for completing all uncompleted projects he inherited from previous administrations.


He however, appealed to the governor to dedicate a line from the 330kv Akurba power substation for Keana, because of the anticipated industries that will spring up in the area as a result of the oil and gas exploration.
Responding, Governor Sule promised to take up the construction of the Keana/Abuni, Keana/Benue border, as well as Keana/Salt lake roads.


On power supply, the governor said one line from the 330kv Akurba power substation, will be dedicated to Assakio/Obi/Keana LGAs.
He said instead of transporting the expected oil and gas to be exploited in Keana, to the sea, his administration will pursue for a set up of a refinery to refine the petroleum products within the community.
The governor said the Dangote Sugar Refinery in Awe, will soon provide employment for 30, 000 youths from the state.
