Not less than five gunmen in the early hours of Saturday May 20, 2023 shot two policemen dead and injured others at Okpala junction in Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo state.
This happened barely one month after five policemen and a couple were gunned down by gunmen who escaped without any trace at the same junction.
The reason for the attack was not yet known as at the time of filing this report but an eyewitness told Blueprint correspondent that policemen had been warned by unidentified gunmen not to be coming around the junction because of their alleged exploitation and brutality.
However, the Imo Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Henry Okoye, is yet to comment on the incident.
