Ikpeazu sacks ASEPA boss over poor sanitation

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has directed the immediate sack of the general manager of Abia State Environmental Sanitation Agency (ASEPA), Mr Okechukwu Apugo, over poor sanitation situation in Umuahia.

 The sack was contained in a press statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu and made available to Blueprint. The governor gave the directive while on a project tour in the state after passing through Ochendo by pass road and saw heaps of refuse along the road. 

 The governor directed the Secretary to State Government, Barr Chris Ezem, to take over sanitation in Umuahia with Dr Aham Uko assisting him.

Meanwhile, the governor continued his project commissioning inspection visits with the headquarters of ASOPADEC and Umuahia relief market.

 He also visited the Rice Mill at Uzuakoki, Ozuitem Water Scheme project said to have gone 90, % completion as well as Agbama Acha Rice processing mill at Isuikwato LGA.
