Ignore threat to attack Deltans – Fulani community

The Fulani community in Delta state on Monday appealed to Deltans and residents to ignore the purported letter threatening to attack the state by Fulani jihadists, saying it was coming from miscreants.

Speaking in Asaba, the leaders of the group in the state, through the Sarkin Fulani, Alhaji Musa Mohammed, the state coordinator, Abubakar Haruna, Useni Haruna the Sarki of Asaba,  chairman, Miyyeti Allah in the state, Musa Mohammed and Muktar Usman said they were not part of the threat that has sent panic in the state.

The leadership of Fulani in the state said they were born and brought up in Delta and Fulani people have lived for over 200 years in the state.

They said, “The leadership of Fulani in Delta is not part of those threatening to attack the state.

“It was a very sad story yesterday as the threat letter that littered everywhere, especiallyAsaba and Agbor. We are not part of the threat and we will never be part of it.

“We have been here for years and most of our fathers and grandfathers were born here and we were born here too. Most of us don’t know our place in the North again. Delta has given a lot of help, still accommodating us, so we cannot take the peace we are enjoying here for granted.”

They called on the state government to fish out those behind the threat letter, lamenting that the letter was causing panic among their people who were afraid of the unknown.
