I was never dismissed from service – Kuje APC candidate

By Donald Iorchir

All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) March 19 chairmanship elections, Hon. Abdulahhi D. Galadima, has debunked claims by the APC Concerned Youths, Kuje chapter, that he was dismissed from the civil service, saying it was “untrue and completely out of context.”
He made the declaration in a chat with newsmen in Kuje.
Galadima said his emergence as the party’s candidate followed due process, adding that he was renamed after converting to Islam.
According to him, the present misunderstanding in the party was sponsored by the opposition parties to connive with the aggrieved members who the primaries did not favour.

He stated that during election period, “so many things are bound to come up and this is what makes politics very interesting.”
He said: “I am a citizen of Nigeria and I have the right to change my religion and also change my name; so all these allegations are mere distractions in politics and March 19 will determine our stand. I have my change of name affidavit from a competent court and genuine documents attached to them.
“I was actually a Christian when I was small and staying with my uncle in Gudun Karya before I later grew up and chose my own faith; so I changed that name and I have the documents.”
He added he was not working in the civil service as at 1995,” so I don’t know where all these are coming from.”

Galadima recalled that the primary elections were free, faire, credible and very transparent and that all the candidates were certified with the agents and the result was accepted as there was no rancour or agitation.
“The party members I know in Kuje Area Council are strongly behind me and I know by God’s grace, on March 19, this year, people will vote me as the chairman of this Area Council.”
The APC chairmanship candidate, however, called on all aggrieved members to lay down their swords and join hands with him for the success of the party.
“I am calling on all the politicians to be calm and let’s join hands for the success of the party and Kuje Area Council.
“If you have failed me, I have failed, and if I don’t do well after being voted for, I should be voted out.”
