I want to beome world best – Faleye

 


Nigeria international and Wacker Innsbruck football club attacker, Sunday Faleye, has expressed his desires to become one of the best footbalIers in the world. 
In an exclusive chat with Sports Chronicle Magazine from his base in Austria, the 21-year-old Ajegunle born sensation stated that though world football and other activities are in a lockdown occasioned by coronavirus pandemic, he remained undaunted as he would continue working hard to achieve his dreams.


“The whole world is in a lockdown, however, I am training harder to keep fit and give my usual best to my team when the league resumes,” Faleye, who models his game after legendary former Spain and Barcelona star, Andreas Iniesta, explained.


The fast-paced and skillful youngster with two goals and six assists for the top flight Austrian side in as many matches, expressed his dreams to take his career to greater heights with eyes on the English premier league which he rates as the best in the world.


“My ambition is to play in the best league and in the best team. Presently, the premiership is the best in the world. Playing with the best team would help me achieve my dreams to be one of the best players in the world,” said Faleye, who also love top Spanish side, FC Barcelona.


Faleye who cut his footballing teeth with Ajegunle-based amateur team, Freestan football club before he joined relegated Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side 3SC, was quick to remark that playing for the CHAN Eagles in 2018 was the highlight of his blossoming career.


“It was a wonderful experience playing in the green white green colours for Nigeria in Morocco at the CHAN Championship, ” said Faleye, who scored Nigeria’s lone goal in the quarter finals clash victory over Angola. 


The Nigeria side eventually went on to play in the final against host Morocco, who won 4-0. Technical reports revealed that the young attacker was sorely missed by the team due to the injury he copped in the quarter final game.
