The Deputy Commander General of the Nigerian Hunters and Forestry Security Service (NHFSS) in charge of technical services, Ambassador John Metchie, has commended the Emir of Borgu Kingdom, Niger state, Barrister Muhammed Sani Haliru Dantoro for his patriotic support to NHFSS.

The DCG made this commendation when the management team of the NHFSS, led by its Commander General, Dr. Osatimehin Joshua Wole, visit the royal father in his Abuja residence.

Ambassador  Metchie  said  the emir’s  late father, Haliru Dantoro Kitoro 11 was a visionary leader, who many years ago, saw the role the then Senator Bola Tinubu would play in the future for the country and honoured him with the title- Jagaban, which he said translates to Commander of the Warriors.

According to Metchie, who is also the African Director, International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), being the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces has naturally conferred the title of Jagaban of Nigeria to Tinubu, as envisioned by the late emir many years ago.

He commended President Tinubu on his visionary steps to develop the country with his Renewed Hope Agenda and expressed confidence that, as the Jagaban of Nigeria, President Tinubu would solve the security challenges facing the nation and pledged the readiness of NHFSS to play key role in achieving that.

He commended the Commander General, Amb. Dr. Osatimehin Joshua Wole, for his patriotic zeal to turn the NHFSS into one of the most vibrant security services in the country and his resilience amidst various challenges.0

The emir, Muhammed Sani Haliru Dantoro,  commended officers and men of the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service for their immeasurable contributions to the security of lives and properties of the citizenry.

The emir regretted that the natural roles of traditional rulers had been taken away from them through the constitutional amendment, stating that most of them were aware of the exploits of NHFSS in their local communities in the area of crime control and therefore are most suited to advice government on how best to tackle community related crimes, especially those committed in forests and farms.

He said thousands of personnel of the Service had undergone various forms of training at facilities owned by the Police, DSS, Army, NDLEA, Immigration and others, aimed at preparing them for professional service.
