Hajj 2021: Masari approves refund to 2,600 Katsina hajj depositors

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has directed the refund of hajj fares to 2,600 depositors for both the 2020 roll over and 2021 intending pilgrims from the state.

The executive director of the board, Alhaji Suleiman Nuhu Kuki, who stated this at a press conference in Katsina Tuesday, said all intending pilgrims seeking for the refund should submit their applications through their respective zonal offices.

Kuki added that, approval has been given for those roll over depositors willing to leave their deposit against the 2022 hajj exercise to do so.

“However, this should be done under a signed agreement between he/she and the board and they will be given priority during the registration.”

Similarly, he said a committee has been inaugurated to study and certify the applications for refund, draw up modalities and effect payment, adding that, the dates will be communicated very soon.

To further guide the intending pilgrims on their applications and ascertain the level of payment, the board’s executive director stated that, a certified list of pilgrims for both the 2020 roll over and the cancelled 2021 hajj would be pasted at the zonal offices.

He advised all the pilgrims to cross check their names and confirm their registration details and payments accordingly to avert any omissions.

While expressing gratitude of the board to Governor Masari for his support, Kuki thanked NAHCON, the state assembly, traditional leaders, the Ulamas and the teeming intending pilgrims for their understanding and cooperation.

He also enjoined the Muslim Umma to continue to pray and offer supplication to Allah (SWT) to keep us all in good health and help overcome this pandemic and return the world to normalcy.
