Group urges Tinubu to appoint Maollayidi as minister

As the people of Adamawa state await their slot in President Bola Tinubu’s second batch of ministerial list, a concerned group in Yola has urged Mr President and chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to observe due diligence.

In a press statement at the weekend in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, leader of the group, Mr Aso James, said the delay in appointing a minister from the state is as a result of vested interest and power play by some politicians.

He said the power play could affect the opportunity to bring on board good people like Senator Ahmad Abubakar Moallayidi. The group recalled President Tinubu’s emphasis to reward those who supported the party in the last elections.

“It’s nothing but the truth, in Adamawa state, if it is not Senator Ahmad Abubakar Moallayidi, who else can be the coming minister, hopefully to be announced in few weeks time?”, the statement asked.

The group said the senator, who represented Adamawa southern senatorial zone, has paid his dues as a party loyalist and gives unrelenting support to APC in and outside Adamawa state.

“Truth be told, Moallayidi is eminently qualified to be appointed by Tinubu as a minister. Honestly, if it is not him, who else? Sure, any other person may not be the choice of Adamawa APC.

“By virtue of reward system, he is one of the hard working APC faithful. He has vast experience for the development of the nation. And by acceptance, the people of Adamawa state will forever want him to be their minister.

“Mr President, nobody can fit in to work for you better than the non-serving senator, else a repeat of history will befall us all in the state,” the statement read.

They, therefore, urged Tinubu, in the interest of the party that needs good men in positions of leadership in the state and the nation at large, to appoint Moallayidi as a minister.
