A northern socio-cultural group, Northern Inter-tribal/Inter-religious Alliance for Peace, Unity and Development, in conjunction with the Nigeria League of Online Media Practitioners, has called on the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) both at state and national levels to consider Princess Ann Nwanyibuife Agom-Eze as a suitable replacement for Dr Dave Umahi in the senate.
National President of the group, Honourable Idriss Muhammad, who made the appeal in a statement in Abuja yesterday, noted that Princess Ann possesses an impeccable pedigree which qualifies her to be a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Idriss Muhammed, who was a member of the House of Representatives in the 7th Assembly, described Princess Ann Agom-Eze as local, national and international personality who has the requisite qualities to represent the good people of Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Ebony state.
He, therefore, urged Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi state to cap up his detribalsed, equitable and just leadership style by endorsing Ann Agom-Eze as a senator. The statement expressed appreciation to the governor and the state APC stakeholders for zoning the position to Onicha LGA instead of the initial Ohazara which has produced PDP party chairman, deputy governor of Ebonyi state – David Umahi – for eight years; he was also governor for another eight years.
He further stated that it’s on record that the same Ohazara local government area had produced a minister in the immediate-past President Muhammadu Buhari administration as well as other federal appointments which could not be highlighted here due to space constraint. Haba! only one family?
He therefore appealed to Governor Nwifuru to ensure that Princess Ann Nwanyibuife Agom-Eze emerges as the senatorial candidate for Ebonyi South to fill it’s vacant seat due to the appointment of Dr Umahi as Honorable Minister of Works.
The statement praised Dr Nwifuru for the earthshaking achievements in the areas of human capacity and infrastructural developments in the last seven months of his administration.
He appealed to the APC National Chairman Dr Abdulahi Ganduje and other party stakeholders to throw their weight behind Princess Ann Nwanyibuife Agom-Eze in view of the fact that she’s a foundation member of the APC with passion to see APC succeed across the 36 states of Nigeria. He appealed to the leadership of APC at Ebonyi state to consider Princess Ann as unopposed candidate for Ebonyi South Senatorial seat, for the reason that she had twice contested for the position. “Let’s see what she can do differently”.
The national President of the group called on the people of Ebonyi South Senatorial district, Eastern Nigerian people and the entire Nigerians to rally round Princess Ann Agom-Eze. “She has worked hard to earn high reputation across board with particular references to her as former public servant who rose to become permanent secretary at different ministries in Ebonyi state with landmark achievements.
