Group decries poor healthcare facilities in Nigeria

In commemoration of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day, members of Advocacy Club initiated by Save the Children International, Nigeria (SCI) from Government Junior Secondary School Gwagwalada (GSS),Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have expressed concerns over poor healthcare facilities in the country.

The members of the Advocacy Club said there was urgent need for government at all levels to revamped most of the dilapidated health facilities in the country to address challenges faced by many Nigerians.

Speaking, a JSS 3, dvocate, Saidu Nanah Aminat called on government and other stakeholders to come to the aids of children in the country.

She said pneumonia has become a dangerous child killer disease, adding that collaborative efforts are needed to safe many children from dying.

She lauded SCI for doing a lot by sensitizing children and engaging stakeholders to play their roles in curbing pneumonia and other child killer diseases.

Also, another Advocate Elot Joy, JSS 3, said universal health coverage is a call to action for all stakeholders in the country to wake up to their responsibilities.

Also, Principal of the school, Mrs Florence Okonkwo experienced happiness with the advocacy saying they now understand that it is a right and not a privileged.

“We are also confident that this kind of representation will be good for our country.”
