Are Benue indigenes still in doubt that Fr. Hyacinth Iormen Alia is their God sent? It’s obvious that they are all panel of judges that will judge the performances of their leaders right from the creation of the state.
It is glaring as they can now differentiate between the hand of Esau and the voice of Jacob. This goes to portray the fact that when the righteous is a leader, his subjects rejoice as seen in visible projects of change mantra in Benue state.
Governor Alia having been nominated as the best administrator of the year in 2023, in less than six months of assumption of duty, x-rays his credible performances and assessment by the general public, as a person with diversified heart and purposeful mission to change his state from analogue to digital world. His charisma continues to draw him to the “hall of fame” as he was recently decorated with an honourary doctorate degree by Ernest Bai Koroma University of Science and Technology, Sierra Leone.
Biblically, in Exodus: 33;14 Moses for fear of Pharaoh refused the call of nature to lead his people untill he got the affirmative assurance of God: “My presence shall go with thee and I will give you rest”. This also likens Fr. Alia to Gideon who wanted same assurance of protection from God like he granted Moses: “And the Lord said unto him, surely I will be with thee, and thou shall smite the Medianites as one man”, Gideon 6:15-17. Dr. Alia is not on the administrative seat of the state by his might but he is a man under heavenly authority. The fulfillment of Moses in his designated mission was successful with the support of God. Thus, there is a clarion call for Benue citizens to have one voice as stakeholders of their state in order to stabilise all irregularities.
The voice of God obviously manifested in Samuel just like it is in the case of Fr. Alia who is called to “wake up from his sleep and rescue his people from disdained political intellectuals, who have misinterpreted administration and privilege to mean diversified failure without reference point”. Benue state is the food basket of the nation but crippled by primitive intellectual nonentities. The cry of the citizens has reached heaven thus, the reason an anointed man after God’s heart, Fr. Alia, is chosen and assured of safety to emancipate his people from evil mental slavery: “And the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon (Alia) and said unto him, the Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour”.
The unique vibrant governor’s signature tune responds to his dream which is, to be given the opportunity to prove his peculiar character; that has distinguished him from insignificant intellectuals whose goals are summed fraudulent deceit. Governor Alia’s awareness and exposure in Florida in the Unites States of America remain the greatest judge of his conscience spiritually and physically.
Meanwhile, the sports sector in the state is witnessing a triumphant re-awakening from the grassroots. Life seems to be a reverse at the grassroots sports where talented athletes are domiciled. The state’s outing at last year’s National Youth Games, which took place in Delta state, was tremendous as both the athletes, coaches and the state director of sports did not only appear unique and well fed but they also continued to eulogise their governor for approving money that made their outing unique with clear indication that in sports, there is ability in disability. Besides, many mouths are destined to feed from sporting activities as well as names and families that spring up from the sector.
To alleviate both transport challenges and hardship of the indigenes and as well encourage dignity in labour, Governor Alia graciously approved four vehicles for Lobi Stars, a professional football club (NPFL). As hope is gradually restored in the citizens, more colour should be added to it in order to be in list of sanitised states. The media should also support the growth of the state by projecting her positively to enhance private partnership.
The Benue state governor has been in the news since his acceptance to lead his people for his visible and genuine performances. The state is fast springing up surprises and over taking state’s that may take their lead again from behind Benue state. Only a wicked man from the lineage of Cane and Jazebel will have eyes but refuse to see the progress of a vibrant Alia whose people call him “machine”. Fruitful trees in the state are already germinating from the manures poured on the soil by Fr. Alia.
“For whom God has blessed, no man can curse and for whom God has cursed, no man can bless” Num:22;12. Benue state is gradually becoming the envy of other states and the actions of Father, are clear indication that “ideas rule the world”. I join to appeal to detractors and envious minds to support a seen prospective projects of their governor so that together they will gather all crackers that discourage good intending private partners. The state now has a man that is already the role model of “the young that must grow”.
It will be glorifying if at the end of Governor Alia’s tenure, victorious songs like that of Moses will remind Benue citizen’s that “Who is like unto thee O Lord, among the god’s? Who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders” Exodus 15;11.
